Start with the actual pack coverage
Measure length and width, choose a waste allowance, and enter the total area covered by one box. This is not the size of a single board. Irregular spaces should be broken into rectangles and combined before you round to packs.
A worked example
A 12 × 10 ft room is 120 ft². With 10% waste, allow 132 ft². If a box covers 20 ft², buy 7 boxes, providing 140 ft².
